Tasting notes
The wine poured a deep ruby in color with red reflections from the light.
It’s a pretty dark wine and very little light shines through.
Legs were numerous and slow to fall.
On the nose, Banfi Chianti Classico exhibits a fairly intense aroma
which is noticeable well away from the glass.
There was a definite whiff of alcohol but it did not
overshadow the notes of black cherry and plum.
Florals were also noted.
The wine’s taste was of slightly tart cherry with a bit of leather just before the finish.
It is a dry wine and not overly complex.
Supple tannins were noticed, mostly on the tongue but also on the whole mouth to a lesser extent.
Finish of the Banfi Chianti Classico was long with a slight residual bitterness.
